GEMS Sponsorship Areas

Single Missionary	:	Rs.2500/-
Missionary Couple	:	Rs.5000/-
Missionary Family	:	Rs.8000/-

Sponsorship can be extended by a single individual, prayer groups, or by churches. Once contribution towards this cause is received, GEMS assigns the sponsorship of a Missionary to the contributor(s) in accordance to the type of sponsorship extended. Periodic reports from the missionary shall be sent to the contributor(s) to keep them informed and to enable them in providing prayer support. Lesser contributions than standard contributions are also accepted towards this fund, but in which case GEMS wouldn’t assign the sponsorship of a missionary to the contributor(s).

It is brought to your attention that GEMS spends an average of Rs.4000 per month towards a Single Missionary and Rs.8000 per month towards a Missionary Couple that includes several salary components such as Basic Pay, Travel Allowance, Medical Allowance, Children education Allowance, Provident Fund, etc. The above listed standard sponsorship contributions are fixed only to facilitate the convenience of the contributor(s).

2.Church Establishment Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for either acquiring land or for Church construction in establishing churches in GEMS mission fields. Lesser contributions than listed standard contributions are also accepted towards this cause, but shall be combined with other such contributions. The standard sponsorship contributions are listed below:

3.Less Privileged Children Support Fund 
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for a child’s food, shelter, education and well being; and includes rehabilitation in case of a handicapped child. Contribution towards this fund is accepted under four kinds of sponsorships.

Handicapped Child	Rs.1250/month
Hindi Education Subsidy	Rs.50/month/child

GEMS Homes children number close to 1600 kids who are either orphans or semi-orphans. They also include children from persecuted families or from utterly poverty stricken families. 

Handicapped children are the 350+ Polio affected children who are provided free food, shelter and rehabilitation through GEMS Polio Home. 

The Hindi Education Subsidy sponsors the education of more than 15,000 children who are part of our Day Care Centers (Hindi Medium Schools).

4.Adopt a Village Fund
GEMS in its pursuit to reach the unreached welcomes willing participation in aiding the progress of Gospel work in the 45,000+ villages of Bihar. Contribution towards this fund sponsors three types of GEMS mission work within a village. Contribution towards this cause can be extended by a single individual, prayer groups, or by churches. Periodic reports updating status and progress shall be sent to the adopting contributor(s). The three types of sponsorships are listed below:

For Evangelism : Rs. 2000/month

The contribution sponsors GEMS efforts to facilitate a missionary or an evangelist to visit the village regularly, and preach the Gospel to the entire village by a sequence of consistent and planned evangelical events. The final phase in adopting a village for Evangelism is to establish a witnessing church in that village.

For Transformation : Rs. 10,000/month

The contribution sponsors GEMS efforts to bring about the spiritual and economical transformation of an entire village through influential, consistent, planned community development projects. Also it facilitates efforts to establish and maintain Self Help Groups, Small Scale / Cottage Industries. 

For OUR people Project : Rs.50,000/month

The Contribution sponsors GEMS efforts to bring about a total societal change within the adopted village by sponsoring the Food, Clothing, Education and Basic Medical Help for about 50 children within that needy village. It includes the spiritual transformation of the entire village through the Gospel as well as socio-economic transformation through upliftment initiatives, welfare programs and medical camps.

5.Adopt a Block Fund
GEMS, in its pursuit to reach the unreached, welcomes, willing participation in aiding the progress of Gospel work in the 533 BLOCKS (Sub Districts) of Bihar. Each BLOCK has an average of 100 villages. Contribution towards this fund sponsors GEMS mission work within a BLOCK. Contribution towards this cause can be extended by a single individual, prayer groups, or by churches. Periodic reports updating status and progress shall be sent to the adopting contributor(s). 

Contribution towards this cause sponsors GEMS efforts to proclaim the Gospel to the entire length and breadth of the adopted BLOCK. GEMS facilitates transformation of a Block by practicing Saturation Church Planting in which GEMS employs 10 Gospel workers to minister within the adopted Block. They, by a sequence of consistent and planned outreach efforts, work towards establishing a Worshipping fellowship in every village within that Block. The contribution towards this strategic GEMS campaign is welcomed with a contributing commitment for FIVE years.

6.Bible Men & Women Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for Bible Men and Women. It’s a GEMS initiative to employ 1500 Bible Men and Women by the year 2012, who would be local Lay Leaders attached to local churches, to help in boosting the local area ministry of their churches. These Bible Men and Women are accountable to the local church. The Bible men and Women are not fulltime workers and may be engaged in any sort of social profession.

7.Discipleship and Training Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for the several training, mentoring and coaching initiatives and programs of GEMS. The various types of sponsorships are listed below:

Believers Training : Rs.500/person/year

All born again church members within every established local church are continually encouraged and periodically trained to learn the fundamental truths about the Christian faith. These Training Programs emphasize in confirming, strengthening and testifying of the faith of the several ‘First Generation Christians’ who were redeemed by the power of the Gospel. 

Elders Training : Rs.800/person/year

Identified key members of the local church are encouraged towards greater participation in church establishment, growth, maintenance and governance through focused periodic training programs. These Training Programs emphasize in Instructing and Developing trainees on Discipleship, Evangelism and Leadership.

Missionaries’ on-job Training: Rs. 1500/person/year

Every new Missionary, before being ordained as a GEMS missionary is trained on every module of mission work in real time circumstances using tough On-Job training programs. 

Bible School Training : Rs.1200/person/month

Interested believers and those with a call towards Church Ministry are accepted into Full/Part time, yearly and half-yearly Bible Courses conducted in the Timothy Bible College and Deborah Bible Center in GEMS Sikaria Campus at Bihar.

Refresher Courses : Rs.2000/person/year

Every missionary of GEMS is made to undergo periodic training to revive their focus and orientation, at the Refreshers’ Course Center in GEMS Sikaria Campus at Bihar.

IMPACT Training : Rs.15,00,000/program

A one of a kind contemporary GEMS training program, which churns out 1500 to 1700 full time mission workers once in 2 years with the vision and empowerment to enlarge God’s kingdom through Church establishment. The “ I Must Plant A Church Today” training program is a 3 days program full of Teaching, Preaching, and Inspirational sessions, which trains GEMS missionaries along with several independent and other mission organisations’ workers who toil in and around Bihar, towards radical missionary work.

APOLLO Team : Rs.7000/person/team

Contribution towards this cause sponsors orienting selected GEMS workers for Mission Consolidation Ministry. An APOLLO team is made up of a Preacher, a Worship Leader and a Helper. The team of three works towards Mission Consolidation by continual trips to all the mission fields, and organizing periodic weekend programs combining all the Preaching Points in the neighborhood. The Apollo team also identifies local believers to be trained and developed towards eldership

Student Mission Exposure : Rs.2500/student/program

GEMS with an objective to expose college students and young Christians to the needs of the mission field, conducts several annual Student Mission Exposure visits and trips. These programs involve the students in Active Evangelism; expose them to Village Mission Work, Tribal Mission Work, Urban Mission Work, and Student Mission Work and Work among Muslims. Contribution towards this cause sponsors food and accommodation for such visiting students and also their travel expenses if sought for.

8.Special Evangelism Projects Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship of the several GEMS initiatives to spread the Gospel through Evangelical programs and methods.

Film Teams : Rs.10,000/team/month

Contribution towards this cause sponsors creation and maintenance of Gospel Film Teams. GEMS has 18 Film Teams presently, in which every film team accomplishes 20 film shows per month, reaching out to over 3.5 lakh people every year. The emphasis is on imparting truths and teachings relating to Evangelism and Discipleship. Every film team includes a LCD projector, a generator and a four-wheeler.

Mini Gospel Outreach : Rs.15,000/Outreach 

Contribution towards this cause sponsors one of the 120 Mini Gospel Outreaches that GEMS conducts around its mission geography reaching out to about 800 to 2000 people with every such program.

Major Gospel Outreach : Rs.1,50,000/Outreach

Contribution towards this cause sponsors one of the 15 Major Gospel Outreaches that GEMS conducts around its mission geography reaching out to about 12,000 to 15,000 people with every such program. The ground work for the successful organization of a major outreach is done for 2 to 3 months by the film teams, bible school students and field missionaries.

Evangelistic Literature : Rs.50,000/Major Outreach

Contribution towards this cause sponsors the distribution of Gospel literature and tracts during the several Mini and Major Gospel Outreach Programs.

9.Special Department Development Fund
Contribution towards this fund sponsors GEMS efforts to strategize and improve its evangelistic projects based on specialized departments. 

Special Department Development Fund: Rs.1,50,000/dept/year

WET (Women Empowerment Thrust):
WET is the department of GEMS that focuses its efforts in reaching out to derelict and persecuted women. Programs that equip such women towards self sustenance, educate them about social opportunities, protect them from abuse, liberate them from poverty and provide for their welfare are the essence of WET’s campaigns.

NET (Neighbors Evangelical Thrust): 
NET is the department of GEMS that focuses its efforts in reaching out to the Muslim (Neighbor) community. Efforts to take the Gospel to these neighbors, to facilitate the seekers within them, to help them re-establish a new life and to protect them from persecution are the core to what NET specializes in.

STORM (Student Outreach Ministry): 
STORM is the department of GEMS that focuses its efforts in reaching out the student community and works in touching the lives of tomorrow’s leaders. Regular Prayer Cells and Bible Studies are conducted in different colleges to influence the young minds. The various individual groups are also networked together to contribute meaningfully towards Kingdom work.

CD (Children Department): 
CD is the department of GEMS that focuses its efforts in reaching out to Children across its mission fields. CD ministers to more than 20,000 children a year through its extensive children programs like Bible Clubs, Vacation Bible Schools and Camps.

JET (Junior Evangelical Thrust): 
JET is the department of GEMS that focuses its efforts in raising young volunteers. It is a natural extension of the CD, from which talented and interested young people are identified, trained and developed to involve themselves in the many children clubs and programs that contribute towards gaining entry into unreached villages.

10.Missionary Medical Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for extending contingency Medical assistance to GEMS Missionaries. The three types of sponsorships are listed below:

Missionary Medical Aid : Rs.25,000/year/person

Contribution towards this cause sponsors the annual medical cover extended to every GEMS missionary.

Delivery Time Assistancenbsp; : Rs.15,000

Contribution towards this cause sponsors the Delivery Time assistance extended to GEMS missionaries.

Major Sicknesses : Rs.2,00,000

Contribution towards this cause sponsors contingency medical cover for every GEMS missionary during any major sicknesses.

11.Missionary Crisis Support Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted to extend crisis support for a missionary or his family members during unfortunate circumstances.

Natural Calamity Relief : Rs.30,000/-

Contribution towards this cause is to compensate the material loss due to Earthquakes, Frequent Floods and other Natural Calamities.

Bereavement Fund: Rs.1,00,000/-

Contribution towards this cause is given to the bereaved family members of the missionary who goes to be with the Lord.

Persecution / Riot Aid : Rs.50,000/-

Contribution towards this cause is to compensate the loss and damage of property during riots and help towards relocation in times of severe persecution.

12.Missionary Children Education Fund
School Education Fund:

Contribution towards this fund sponsors expenditure towards imparting school education for a GEMS missionary child. There are around 750+ missionary children in GEMS whose parents are full-time field workers serving in GEMS mission fields.

Higher Education Fund:

Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for extending Higher Education assistance to Children of GEMS missionaries. The three types of sponsorships are listed below:

13.Capital Yielding Institutions Projects Fund
Contribution towards this fund is accepted as sponsorship for establishment of Capital Yielding Institutions, which is a strategic GEMS initiative to strive towards self sustenance in the long term and to create an undeniable social identity for GEMS. Also use these to influence and evangelize those under the umbrella of such institutions and to excel in every such core competence with the Christian perspective of achieving total societal evangelism.
